Biography


Naxieli, or 'Nax' as she is known, was born in México City, to Teresa Escobar, a mexican Zapotecan Indian and Salvador Gómez, classical guitar player.  Growing up, Nax spent time in both Mexico D.F. and Oxaca, culturally rich areas that influenced her early introduction to the arts.  She studied graphic arts at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and start working as a web animator.

In 2001 she was hired by Once TV, a Mexican educational television network where she was awarded by The Promax BDA 2002 for her children animation projects.  Then, she starts a career as a TV animator.

Her passion and curiosity for the graphic arts, music and technology took her to explore deeply in the digital arts, combining traditional illustration or animation, to motion graphics, Interactive Web Media and produce all kind of bizarre ideas she can came up with.

Currently, she lives in NY; while she keeps exploring different fields looking for an identity and new expression forms.
